Mini Music Makers
Ages: 2 - 4 years
Children will take part in fun activities while learning elements of music including rhythm, singing, listening, and dancing. During Tuesday sessions, we will focus on rhythm instruments, while Thursday sessions will feature melodic instruments and singing. Parents are required to attend.
Music Magic
Ages: 5 - 7 years
Children will explore a variety of instruments, learning basic beginner skills. Music and rhythm reading are also introduced. Parents are encouraged to attend class sessions and practice at home with their children daily, learning to cultivate a positive and joyful experience. This level prepares a child for private lessons at the conservatory.
Music Theory and Composition for Kids!
Ages: 5+
Kids will play music theory games, learn rhythm patterns, write our own mini compositions, and perform them for each other. Come once, twice, or all nine times! We'll learn something new each week.
Ukulele for Beginners
Ages: 6 - 8 years
Kids will enjoy this fun versatile instrument perfect to play in many summer settings like the lake, the beach and the campfire! Students will learn how to tune the ukulele, and play 3 chords, and sing the songs, “Red River Valley” and “Twinkle”.
Musical Crafts: DIY Instrument Making
Ages: 6 - 10 years
Kids will get “hands-on” in each session making their own instrument, weaving together arts and crafts with music!
Beginning Class Piano
Ages: 8 - Adult
Learn how to play the piano in a small-group setting. The course includes keyboard coordination, musical terminology, note and staff reading, primary chord functions, basic theory, and learning pieces of various genres.
Playing Music with Others
Ages: 9 - Adult
Bring your instrument and join in a relaxed, and inspired improvisation experience. Learn the value of “soft skills” required to play your instrument with other musicians! An inspiring musical experience!
Three-Part Harmony Singing Intensive
Ages: 10 - 18
Kids will learn the value of aural skills, the art of singing by-ear, the close harmonies of American pop and folk tunes with a small group of singers. Ear-training and vocal instruction integrated in the class. Learn to sing “Let the Circle Be Unbroken”.
Ukulele Intermediate / Advanced
Ages: 10 - Adult
Students will learn more chords and add more songs to their repertoire. “Stand by Me”, “Over the Rainbow”, The Lion Sleeps Tonight”, and “Tetris Theme”.
Choir and Solfege Intensive
Ages: 10 - Adult
Students will learn to read music and to sing classically and chorally, while getting the immersion experience of "Do-Re-Mi's". Study pitch through the Curwen method of hand signing and integrate the solfege technique in singing. This is a great opportunity to try out our Coeur d’Alene Youth Choir for the coming Fall season!
Chamber Music Ensemble Coaching
Ages: 15 - Adult
Come learn the skills and joy of chamber music; play with your friends and learn from a teacher who has been around the world with movie and orchestral scores!
